In compliance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance

the Paws Guardian Rescue Shelter is committed to safeguard web users’ personal information in respect of its collection, use, retention, security, transfer and access.

  • Your name
  • Contact details, such as email address, mailing address, residential address and telephone number
  • Membership number and related information (e.g. transactions related to your membership)
  • Information used for identity verification, including the type and number of identity document (e.g. Hong Kong Identity Card number and passport number) and other relevant information
  • Billing information, including credit card number, bank account information, and billing address
  • Demographic data, such as age, gender, pet data, and reason for membership
  • Details of transactions made using the account
  • Other information related to the operation of the Association

Minor applicants (i.e. persons under the age of 18) must obtain the consent of their parents or legal guardians before joining the Association. By accepting these Terms and Conditions, the Minor confirms that he/she has obtained the consent of his/her parent or legal guardian to join the Association and that the Minor has the absolute right to refuse any person’s application for membership.


Filling in all personal data on the membership form is not mandatory, but failure to provide personal data may result in the Association being unable to process certain applications or provide services.


We also keep a record of users who visit our website for analysis of the number of visitors and usage of our website. The website uses cookies on the user’s computer to access browser data, and we collect data through cookies, but in this case we do not collect any personal data.



Personal Information Collection Statement

Mao Shou Rescue (“Mao Shou”, “we”, “us” or “our”) will collect your personal data in order to provide services to you and improve your customer experience. Fields marked with an asterisk are mandatory, otherwise we may not be able to provide you with the information or services you have requested.



Use of Personal Data

The personal data provided by the members will be collected and retained by the Club for the purposes of the operation of the Association, which will be used to:

  • To provide the Association services (e.g. event registration, e-newsletter, shopping, membership registration and donations)
  • To manage member accounts and keep records
  • Facilitate communication between the two parties
  • Notification of Service Changes
  • Respond to inquiries
  • Enhance user experience and offer recommendations

  • Communication related to the way to support the association
  • Promote promotions
  • Customise content and advertisements on the platform
  • Improve platform and analytics behavior
  • Performance of a contract

Direct Marketing

Mao Shou intends to use your personal data in direct marketing. Unless otherwise permitted or exempted, the Association will not use or transfer the information to third parties in this way.

Associations may:

  • Use name, contact details and demographic data
  • Promote the following facilities or activities:
    • Donations Membership Affairs
    • Fundraising and educational activities
    • Volunteer Staff Recruitment
    • Report on the welfare work of the association

We may be required to provide personal data to our business partners for promotional purposes (e.g. direct marketing or digital marketing) and ensure that third parties are committed to protecting the security of personal data.


You may opt-out of direct marketing in the membership application form or contact us by email at info@pgrs.life to stop using your personal data.



Disclosure of Personal Data

We do not sell or rent personal information and take care to protect it. Where necessary, the data may be disclosed to:

  • Contractors or service providers (e.g. IT, postal or marketing companies)
  • Assist in liaising with member organisations (e.g. research firms)
  • Co-organisers and service providers

Personal data may be transferred outside Hong Kong for processing or storage.



Personal Data Security

All member information will be kept in the Association’s computer system and will only be accessible by authorized and trained staff and will be subject to confidentiality obligations.



Retention of personal data

We will only retain the data for a reasonable period of time until the original purpose for which it was collected is fulfilled.



Access and Correction of Personal Data

In accordance with the Personal Data (Privacy) Ordinance, you may access or correct your personal data. Please email us at info@pgrs.life or fill in the form from the Office of the Privacy Commissioner to make an application.
